Sorry
was thinking about WH Smith's selling a £6.99 book for .99p when £1.62 of the self-same book is being donated to charity, and briefly lost the will to live.

In Australia, bastard Borders has just recently jacked up the price of EVERY book not on their 3-for-2 tables by 10% OVER recommended retail price. I hope this contributes to them crumbling and collapsing. One employee described this decision to me as necessary "to cover the cost of browsing".

I only ordered three copies of that book and was amazed that they sold over the weekend as I thought everyone would go to WHS.

I didn't even know about the WHS things. Luckily we don't have a WHS nearby. I always thought WHS were above 'doing an Asda'. Shame on them.
